This thing has done more than expected. Bought to help us do some cuts as needed while assembly of our decorative glulam trusses, ended up using it for other EWP products / projects as well.

The plastic holder is one of the best ideas going. Seems like a small thing but it really had an effect on my choice. I have the Skil beam saw with the holder as well and glad to have them. They are also great saws.

Oil leaks out when not in use, store carefully! Vacume line connection to the top of the tool is not secure enough to allow any movement or twisting during operation; it will simply fall off. Sawdust piles up quickly as chain travels up through the wood; not down, making it very difficult to see the line of cut at the wood/chain interface. (Vacuum would help, if there was a better way of securing it!)…there is a notch guide at the top of the platen however the distance between the notch and the cut is more than 4 “. Straight edge guide is the only way to ensure an accurate line of cut. Riving knife binds easily in kerf.
