The Shop-Vac® Super Performance Cloth Filter must be used in combination with a 90585 Foam Sleeve. Made from durable Dacron® material, this cloth filter can be washed and reused to help save you both time and money. Perfect for pick up of larger debris and dry material. This filter fit's Shop-Vac® brand wet/dry vacuums 5 gallon* and above (except 5 gallon* portable model H87S, 5 gallon* HangUp®, 5 gallon* Wall Mount and 6 gallon* long life model P12S Vacuums).

Q: Is this a Shop Vac brand product 901-15-48? Also, what does the 9L in the description refer to? is that the vacuum size it's intended for, or the actual capacity if you were to fill it?

A: I'm pretty sure this bag is a filter sock, meaning it goes over an existing pleated type cartridge filter to filter off some of the junk before it gets to the expensive cartridge filter. This is because most cartridge filters aren't washable without somehow causing damage, So a stretched pair of panty hose or leggings would do the same but this will be less prone to stuff getting stuck in the fabric/tearing. The Cdn Tire/ shopVAC description is very bad. The 9L is misleading useless extra info, like multiple choice tests.
