Good idea, but go with tiles or rigid sheets.

The fact that it comes rolled, and wound tightly makes it less than ideal for the young hockey player who wants to use it right out of the box. We’ve had it flat under sheets of plywood and weights for about a week and it’s still not straight and flat.

Q: Can this product support 100 pounds without damage? Is there a risk of slipping when wearing socks? (I believe this can extend the life of the product)

Q: Is this big enough for goalie's to practice on?

    2 Answers
    • A: If the goalie wanted to stand on it, then I don't think it would work. The width of it is thinner than the net.

Q: Can you stand on your skates on this surface?

    • A: You cannot stand on this with skates. Runners or roller blades work though

Q: It is too big for my space, i’d like to make it 4x4. What would you cut the surface with to ensure a good job?

    1 Answer
    • A: The material is not that thick. You can probably cut it with a strong pair of scissors or sharp exacto knife. If you want a really clean cut, electric scissors or some sort of power cutter would be better. You should also use measuring tools to get a straight line cut as well.

Q: Can we use regular hockey pucks? If so, will it still feel like ice?

    1 Answer
    • A: yes, of course. You should only use real pucks

Q: Is this product UV stabilized? Will it get damaged if left outside in the sun?

    1 Answer
    • A: I don't believe we can call them UV stabilized since we do not specify UV stabilization in the material used for our shooting pads. We have reached out to our material suppliers to get any available information regarding how the pads should hold up against UV exposure. Since they are white in colour, there shouldn't be significant colour fading, and we haven't had issues with the samples we have tested over a single season.

Q: set up outside on patio stones. worked great the first day. Now it is not slippery. Why would it stop being slippery? And would the cold affect it?

    1 Answer
    • A: Based on the scenario above we can’t confirm the issue as there are numerous variables involved. We recommend to bring the shooting pad inside and use to confirm the pad is functioning correctly

Q: What is the thickness please? How do you keep the corners lying flat?

    1 Answer
    • A: The shooting pad is 0.073" thick.

Q: can thisHockey pad be used outside in winter on gravel driveway?

    1 Answer
    • A: This item may be used outside on the gravel. In the winter it may slip if the driveway is icy, but the shooting pad is built to protect the stick from a gravel driveway while also creating a simulated ice feel for practicing shooting and stick handling.
