Formerly known as Shell Rotella® T Triple Protection, Shell Rotella® T4 Triple Protection Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil is the most technically advanced Shell Rotella® formulation ever. This 15W-40 motor oil uses advanced additive technology to protect under the most severe engine conditions found in modern, low-emission engines and older hard-working diesel engines. It effectively sustains emissions control system durability where diesel particulate filters and after-treatment systems are used. Plus, it provides enhanced protection against viscosity loss due to shear and improved oil aeration compared to the previous formulation.

Q: Rotella T Moter oil 15/40 I have a 2008 Dodge with 6.7L. diesel with an exaust brake .Will this oil work alright in the cummins engine and not void my warrenty?
16 years agoA: yes, this oil would be an excellent choice. I have a 2005 f350 with a 6.0l diesel and have been using this oil for 7 years with excellent results.

9 years agoA: Hello DieselMike2, The Shell Rotella T Triple Protection is not formulated for the VW 505 00 specification. The Pennzoil Platinum Euro 0w-40,5w-40 and 5w-30 all meet the VW 505 00 specification.

13 years agoA: this oil would work in your car although being a new engine with factory clearances, the oil pressure might be a little too high on a cold start. Otherwise an excellent oil.

2 years agoA: Hello Ohmy, No this material is not suitable for this application. For a Case David Brown the recommendation for the transmission is Spirax S4 TXM.

5 years agoA: Hi Matt, thank you for your question. The Shell Rotella T4 15W40 is compatible with the 2013 RAM 2500 Cummins. We are currently experiencing issues with the Oil Vehicle Fitment tool and we are actively working to get this error fixed.
