Ink smears, line is pretty thick

Last a long time, but I do not like how they smear. They are pretty thick as you write, and the ink sits on top of the paper. I feel like it doesn’t matter how long I wait- the ink is always smearing under my hand as I write. I won’t be repurchasing, but I will finish my pack.

The Sharpie S-Gel Medium Point (0.7mm) pen writes really smoothly and feels comfortable in hand. The ink flows consistently without bleeding through most paper, and it dries quickly, so there’s minimal smearing. The pen feels durable and reliable, and it’s a great value for everyday writing, school, or notes.

I use these pens at work and at hone all the time. Only problem is everyone wants to steal them. Just buy your own everyone. It's definitely worth the money. Hands down you can't beat these pens!!

These are a great new product from a trusted brand. They have become a go to item for me. I like that it’s a click pen instead of a cap. The ink is vibrant and smooth. It does get rough occasionally.

Q: I have all types of Sharpie pens. I keep them in pen holders (separated by type) on my desk. Why is the color not identified on top of your pens? How do others know what the pen color is without pulling all of the pens out?

Q: Where can I buy replacement cartridges, and how should I install them? Good pen but if I can't refill it or use the cartridges elsewhere what's the point?

Q: I’ve bought two different packs of the pens & every single one has stopped clicking. I can’t press the top down to get the pen out to write… bought more only to find all four again are stuck and unable to click down! Anyone else having this issue?

  • A: Hello, We’re sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve experienced with the S-Gel pens. One thing you can try is gently tapping the pen on a hard surface or twisting the top slightly while pressing down—sometimes the internal mechanism just needs a little adjustment. If this doesn’t help, we’d be happy to assist further. Please reach out to us directly at https://www.sharpie.com/contact-us, email us at consumercare@newellco.com, or connect with us via Live Chat. Q: Is the ink for this pen permanent and good for check writing?

  • A: Hello, We appreciate your interest in our products. Sharpie S-Gel pens are not classified as permanent; they use gel ink that is designed for smooth writing but is not waterproof or fade-resistant like traditional Sharpie permanent markers. While they offer bold, high-quality ink, they may not be the best option for check writing, as banks often recommend pens with fraud-resistant ink, such as those labeled archival or waterproof. If you need more assistance, please do not hesitate to us reach us via https://www.sharpie.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! • A: Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. We're sorry to hear that the pens are not writing, which is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. To improve their performance, kindly avoid writing on shiny, smooth, or coated surfaces. Ensure the tip seal is completely removed and warm up the pen on scratch paper before use. If the pen doesn't start immediately, gently tap it on the paper to bring the ink forward. If the steps above do not help, please do not hesitate to reach out. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Sharpie® Consumer Care

Q: There is a small plastic tip on the end of the writing tip - should that be removed??

  • A: Hello. Thank you for your question. Yes, you should remove the small plastic tip on the end of the Sharpie S-Gel pen before using it. That plastic tip is there to protect the gel ink and prevent it from drying out before you use the pen. Once you remove it, the ink should flow freely. Just make sure to replace the cap when you're done writing to keep the pen from drying out! In case of any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly via the Contact Us form on our website https://www.sharpie.com/support/contact-us We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am - 5 pm Eastern Time. Q: How do I get this ink out of fabric? My little one accidentally ‘colored’ on clothing

  • A: Hello. Thank you for your question. The successful stain removal of ink stains differs from case to case because of the many types of fabrics, colors, inks, and time elapsed before stain removal. We cannot guarantee stain removal since many variables can be involved. Following these steps should result in partial or complete removal. First, use household ammonia and water (one teaspoon of ammonia per gallon of water). For nicer clothes, such as wool slacks, use Woolite instead of ammonia. Second, add a dish or laundry detergent (we recommend a protein-type detergent such as Era Plus). Then, with a stiff brush, such as a toothbrush or cuticle brush, scrub the stain. Repeat steps 1-3 if needed. Launder with a protein-based detergent such as Era Plus following the manufacturer’s washing instructions. Make sure the stain is completely removed before putting the clothing in the dryer, as this will permanently set the stain. You may also try Amodex Stain Remover.
