    Failure after 2 years

After 2 years (using a new battery) it would not start. It was seized. Lower end full of water. Called contact number- been changed. No support. You pay good money expecting acceptable quality but it turns out to be of poor quality. Very disappointed !

No, I do not recommend this product.

9 years of fishing ever weekend later and still going strong!

Was just recommending this motor to others on a Facebook fishing group. When I looked it up online I was surprised to see so many bad reviews so I thought I’d share mine... bought mine at Canadian Tire In 2011 and have been using it on average nearly every weekend from ice off to ice on for 9 years and have abused the heck out of it and she’s still running strong! Love the multiple speeds and battery life indicator. Was one of the best purchases I probably ever made and sure have got my money’s worth out of it. One more season and it’s lasted a decade! I can’t speak for others but mine has done my family extremely well and wouldn’t hesitate to buy another when this one dies or recommend to another angler. They could work on making the setting between off and 1 a little less touchy as sometimes when I turn it off it goes back on but nothing a quick turn of the wrists will remedy in .5 a second and never been a real issue for me. All in all a great product!

    Works good for me

I can see this is getting some bad reviews, but I have to say I've had no issues at all. Competitively priced for a 55lb thrust, and pushes me and my little 9' tender around the lake all morning while fishing. Don't run it wide open, and it will significantly improve your battery life.

On my second one and it is still broken

I used it twice and stored it for the winter, the next spring when I went to use it it didn't work ends up the foot was full of water and corroded. I brought it to get it fixed eventually they called and said they couldn't fix it so I could pick up a brand new one from where I bought it. I used this one a handful of times and now it doesn't work at all. Maybe it'll work better as a boat anchor? Customer service was very good but I won't be purchasing another Shakespeare trolling motor that's for sure.
