Bought this from canadian tire a few years ago. Seals but does not vacuum. Totally useless. Don't buy seal a meal products.

Works only half the time

For whatever reason, my Seal-a-Meal VS230 only works occasionally. It’s been like that since day one. Sometimes it works, but most times it doesn’t.

Don't waste your money

This thing couldn't seal a $1 deal holding a $100 bill. Frequently leaves large air pockets and totally unsuitable for use with sous vide cooking as the air pockets leave room for all the juices to escape when cooking totally negating the benefits. Spend more and get a quality unit.

Could use some more suction

Had this for about a year looking at upgrading ,unit is not consistent with getting all the air out and is successfull once in awhile. I would suggest paying more for a better brand

J'ai acheté cet article en remplacement d'un autre qui était devenu défectueux. Il fonctionne très bien avec les sacs de la même compagnie. Cependant, il perd son efficacité pour le vide d'air si on essaie d'autres sacs récupérés par exemple alors que ma première machine réalisait ses tâches, peu importe le type de sac employé.

Q: Does this require their own bags to work? Some vacuum sealers require a special type of wrap to successfully vacuum seal. Others have a tube that goes in the bag, and work with any plastic. Which is this? A dead giveaway is the lack of tube.

A: Sealer is made by same maker as foodsaver. Their bags work with this sealer as well.

Q: Scelle sous vide n'importe quels sacs ? Sommes-nous obligés d'acheter les rouleaux de plastique vendus pour les machines ou cette scelleuse scelle n'importe quel sac que nous avons à la maison ? exemple, sac de congélation... Merci
