Its compact, foldable design lets you stash it in your kayak or canoe until you're ready to drop it in the water. Once in the water, it traps crabs inside while allowing water circulation to keep your catch alive until you're ready to bring them aboard. We were looking for something smaller but this did the trick. My daughter was able to toss it pretty easily and long enough distances. We had a blast catching crabs

Q: What is the hole with white tie for? Do the crab go in there too or just the hole in the front with a stiff guard?
