Scotts® Grub B Gon® MAX Grub Killer is effective due to being formulated with the natural active ingredient, Btg SDS-502. This product will control beetle grubs upon ingestion and effectively wipe out colonies of grubs. Over time, it will give your lawn a second chance at growth.
Works to effectively control beetle grubs that cause turf damage
Controls a range of beetle grubs, including Japanese beetle, May or June beetles, European chafer, and more
Uses a natural active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis that absorbs into grass roots to kill grubs as they eat

I think this is a good product

While I trust that this is the best product around it is very very expensive for one application in a small yard. I have no proof that it works as described as I have as many 'dead spots' on my lawn as my neighbours who do not use the product. My grass is well taken care of but this summer's drought meant a lot of stress for the lawn so I'm hoping a spring application will improve the chances of lawn survival next summer.

Once it is released, it is carried into the soil and root zone of the turf. Once it is in the soil, it will control the listed beetles upon ingestion. Please note, it can take several days for the grubs to die; the larger the grub the longer it will take. If needed, this product can be reapplied after 7 days.

A: It's been awhile. I have 2 small dogs so I researched before using. I made sure to water in really well and kept them away from that area for 5 days. I watered each day to make sure it was well dissolved with no remaining granules on the top. Dogs safe.....no grubs

The active ingredient is Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) subspecies galleriae, a natural soil bacteria. It's only harmful to select insect larvae and isn't known to interfere with the breakdown process in septic systems or leach fields.
