I bought this to spray on my new sofas. While I had protective cloths on the floor somehow the spray got on the laminate floor which has made it unbearably slippery. I have washed it many times but it remains slippery. I suppose the scotch guard protection will help my sofas which hasn’t been tested yet (no spills yet thank heavens) but be extra careful of protecting your floors and walls. The overspray is significant.

A: I probably wouldn't try that. The spray is meant for fabric, not for prolonged contact with skin. It might give you a rash.

A: This scotch guard did not work at all despite 3 sprays on 100% cotton pillowcases! Returned the one I did not use and threw out the used one.

A: Hi, thank you for your question. In general, Scotchgard™ Fabric Water Shield can be used on cotton, polyester, silk, wool, acrylic, nylon, and most other washable fabrics. Do not use on “X” coded fabric (fabric that cannot be cleaned with water or solvents). You can find this code on the tag sewn into your fabric item. It is always best to test on a small, out-of-the-way spot first to make sure your fabric will stay colourfast.
