We are sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had with your Scosche MagicMount. Do you use a protective case on your phone? If so, can you confirm if the MagicPlate was applied in between the phone and the protective case or was it placed on the outside of the protective case? Thicker, rugged phone cases or dual layered phone cases can interfere with the magnetic attraction between the MagicPlates and the magnets in the MagicMount, resulting in a weaker, less secure hold. We recommend testing the placement of the MagicPlates before actually adhering it to the phone or phone case. MagicPlate effectiveness can be tested by laying the MagicPlate in between the case and the phone, without exposing the adhesive on the MagicPlate. Once this step has been taken, place the phone on the mount. If the phone slides off the mount or appears to have a weak magnetic attraction, we would then recommend placing the MagicPlate on the outside of the case. We also offer a line of MagicMount Pro mobile device mounts which have 30% stronger magnets. We are sorry to hear about the disappointing experience you had with your Scosche MagicMount. The MagicMount uses a pressure sensitive 3M automotive grade adhesive which can adhere to most surfaces, including textured surfaces. Preparation of the surface area and the Scosche product is vital for successful installation. Use the included cleansing wipe to clean the area of the dashboard where you wish to secure the MagicMount. Ensure the cleaned area is dry, then firmly hold down the base of the mount onto the desired dashboard location for 1-2 minutes. For best bonding performance, allow 24–48 hours before attaching your mobile device to the MagicMount. It is recommended to find the flattest, smoothest area in your car that would best suit your needs. Sharp edges and vertical mounting positions may not be optimal mounting locations for the MagicMount. If there is any adhesive residue left on your dashboard it can easily be removed with a warm, damp cloth or using a mild adhesive remover such as Goo Gone.
