Terrible

I am so disappointed in this bike. It rattles, the gears slip, the seat won’t stay at the same height. I am a small woman so weight is not the issue. When I purchased it the seat had a small split in the seam. A new seat was ordered (so I was told) as I would not accept them replacing it with a CCM smaller non-memory foam seat. I have not heard anything yet. I would not recommend this bike. Wish I could as I paid full price.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Overall good considering the bike shortage

I just bought this beauty today, it is quite the stunner and perfect for a girly girl. It’s shiny rose gold exterior is more pink then it is gold just keep that in mind: the colour isn’t a true rose gold. It’s other redeeming quality is the comfort, it definitely lives up to its name. It’s the perfect fit for someone who is 5’4. Easy to get on and easy to get off of. Brakes currently work great and we’ll see how they hold up. Now for the drawbacks. There is no bike rake, basket, bell, or bottle holder. A lot of the other bikes at this price point have a combination of those extras. So factor in those costs if you want to buy this bike. Also, the wheels are not centrally aligned to the fenders. Not sure if this will be a problem going forward but we’ll see. Lastly, it is pretty heavy. I had some trouble hoisting it onto the ttc bus racks but if you want to incorporate strength training into your bike rides then this won’t be a problem. I would say the weight (someone said 41 lbs) would be the very upper limit of someone my size, it will take some getting used to. Overall however, this is a great bike for leisurely riding around for the price. Even the used bikes on kijiji on selling for close to this price now due to the bike shortage so you might as well get your own new baby. If you can snag this up I recommend you do so!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: I just bought the Schwinn suburbia women’s 26” bike. I love it, except the seat isn’t working -  it swivels back and forth (I’ve tightened it as much as I can) and the seat slowly slides down while I’m riding. Ideas?!?!

1 Answer
  • A: Sounds like that could make for an interesting ride. A new seat post clamp should get you all set for smooth sailing. The bike does have a Limited Lifetime Warranty and we can help get that part sent out for you to enjoy your new ride. We're available Monday-Friday 8am-5pm CST at 800-626-2811. Thanks! Nicole

Q: My bike seems to have a dent in the back fender on the same side as the chain. Is this an indent that is on every bike or is it an actual dent? I only picked up the bike yesterday.

1 Answer
  • A: I bought mine yesterday and it has an identical dent, like if we were locked up at the same bike rack you'd likely find me accidentally trying to steal your bike because dent is absolutely identical in size, shape and location. I don't think it's meant to be there, I think it's a manufacturing defect. My Canadian Tire was wonderful and warned me about it before me purchase though, so my natural assumption is as a flaw not feature. Now that I seen I'm not the only one I would also assume also not damage done by assembly or Canadian Tire, a Schwinn manufacturing issue. I still love my bike, I know the price is steep for something with a dent but this bike rides so smoothly that it's a trade I'm willing to make.

Q: Wondering what height person this bike is best suited for? I am 5'8 and wondering if this might be too small?

1 Answer
  • A: I'm 5'8" and bought the bike, it is perfect. I had to move the seat up and it is done with a lever - so no problem. The handle bars can also go up too apparently.

Q: Rider's max weight for this bike please?

1 Answer
  • A: The industry standard is not to apply weight maximums to bicycles, we prefer to educate the customer on the intended use of the product. We would suggest speaking to the Department Manager of your local Canadian Tire store to find the bicycle that best suits your needs.
