Q: Will this boost a completely dead battery ?
5 months agoA: Yes. If the battery voltage is very low, you will need to use the jump starters override mode... STARTING A BATTERY WITH LOW VOLTAGE If the vehicle’s battery voltage is too low for the jump starter to detect that the clamps are connected, there is a manual start procedure to enable the jump start function. 1. Make sure the clamps are correctly connected. 2. Press the Jump Start button. Next press the Jump Start button and the Light/USB Power button and hold both for 5 seconds to turn on the override mode. The green Ready LED will flash. WARNING! This overrides a safety feature. It will energize the clamps and cause sparking if they are touched together. If the clamp connections are shorted or reversed, damage to the unit, battery and possibly the car’s electrical system will occur.

Q: Will this start a 4L diesel tractor with a low battery in the dead of winter (-20C) in Ontario?

A: This product is rated for diesel engines up to 8.0L so should have no trouble starting your tractor. (Of course, one must take into consideration other contributing factors such as the condition of glow plugs, charge level of the booster, etc.).

A: Yes it is suitable for your Ram truck as the unit is rated for gas engines up to 10L and diesel engines up to 8L.
