A: I would not. It didn't even hold on a BBQ rotisserie bracket which I was able prep really well. Exhaust manifold will get much hotter.

A: I just finished reading some of the reviews on this paint and two reviewers stated they used it on a fire pit outside. I assume they used it on a metal fire pit, they stated it worked great.

Q: Is this paint suitable for the interior of a gas fireplace and is it a flat finish (not gloss or semi-gloss)?

A: Hi Brent P, Great question! Our High Heat aerosol is designed for the metal exterior of a fireplace only. It was not meant for direct contact with flames. In regards to the finish, both the white and black colour is a rich, satin finish.

Q: I have Electric Turkey Roaster Oven with few scratches of enamel inside of the roasting dish. Could I use this paint for touch up.

A: Hi Bodan, Great question! Our Specialty High Heat Enamel is for the exterior of metal appliances only. It is not recommended for roasting dishes as it will not withstand the amount of heat it will be exposed to. As well, it is not food grade safe. Unfortunately, we do not have another product to recommend.

Q: Could this be used to paint typical 1800’s cast iron interior hot water radiators?

A: Hi Spagett, Our High Heat Enamel does require a heat cure of 350F for approx. 15-20 minutes. If the radiator's surface temperature does not exceed 200F when they heat is turned on, you can use our Tremclad Rust Paint instead.

A: Hi SilD, We do not recommend using our Rust-Oleum High Heat Enamel on gas stove top grills as the coating will not be able to withstand the amount of heat it will be exposed to. The coating will crack and start to peel off.

Q: I want to paint the metal vent pipes that stick out of my roof. Is this product good for Canadian winters and hot summers, and is it rust proof?

A: Hi Fixer upper, We do not recommend our High Heat Spray paint for your metal vent pipes. This product requires a heat cure and the use of a heat guy or heat from the sun is not sufficient enough. We recommend our Tremclad Oil-Based rust paint for your project.

Q: Is this paint "food safe" once it is dried, or will it continue to emit fumes when heated?

A: We do not recommend our High Heat Spray paint on metal directly exposed to open flame or in direct contact with food, such as a grill grate. After you have applied the aerosol, allow the paint to dry for 1 hour before heating. In order to achieve full cure, the coating must be heat cured at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for one hour. The product may emit smoke and a harmless odor. However, we would love to get more information on your application.
