Great results, takes time and patience

First off, do not expect to accomplish a complete transformation in a day or even two, if you are going to follow the directions correctly. Every step is just as important as the last to achieve an excellent result. What you are basically doing is de-glazing the existing piece, applying a base colour, then a glaze to give it some character, then a top coat to protect it. In simple terms, scrubbing it clean and putting a new layer on paint on top. I used this product to refinish a small set of cabinets, took my time, and came out with excellent results. I then turned my attention to an old and worn oak desk. This took approximately 4 days with disassembly, correct preparation, application, and reassembly. The results were fantastic. I have been using the desk (not gently) over the past year and have not had a single issue with the protective coat or base layer chipping or wearing through. If you have a nice piece of furniture that you would like to update, this is an excellent product. If you are updating your Kitchen, expect to spend some time on it, break it up into little jobs if possible, and you will have a great result. I have no complaints with the product and would recommend it to others.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Does a great job!

I used this to update my old bedroom bureaus. I used the Expresso colour and it looks fantastic! And my mismatched bedside table looks more like the bureaus. It was an easy project, although it was more than a weekend project. I would advise to be careful when applying the glaze, if used. Make sure you shake out the cheesecloth provided really well. It leaves behind a lot of little fibers. Fortunately, when the top coat is added, you can't see the little fibers. Also, the glaze took a long time to dry. Much longer than expected. The top coat was not difficult to apply, and it is not a gel paste or overly thick. It reminded me of the Diamond Coat finish I've used on other projects. You do have to work quickly, as it dries very fast. But this can be a good thing. And if you are working for a long time, I'd suggest having an extra brush to use. After a while, some of the top coat dries on the brush and can start to form bubbles when brushing. A fresh brush will prevent that. And since I didn't see anyone commenting about it, the top coat has a nice satin finish. And everything cleans up with soap and water. Awesome!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Q: How many square feet will one kit cover?

2 Answers
  • A: Kit says 40 sq ft, my kitchen is 35 sq ft and it takes alot more paint than 2 coats. My cupboards needed 4 coats for decent paint coverage and 3 kits. So plan on buying 3 kits because they conveniently do not sell the paint separately and that's what you run out of way before you will reach 40 sq ft.
