Excellent Filter

Works very well with my very old Holmes Humidifier that I bought 2nd Hand to replace an existing one that was broken. I use distilled water of course.

Not a good filter

This filter has a metal strip in it that rusts almost immediately. Not as good as regular/original filters. Also I have purchased this item several times and both times it grew black mold quickly. No other filter has ever done that, and I clean my humidifier weekly. The claim that the product contains Vitamin C to somehow 'magically' neutralize chlorine is also false advertising. One, vitamin C is highly unstable and would not last in the filter, and second most cities now use a more stable chlorine with ammonium molecules for treatment, which vitamin c would do nothing to. I much prefer the basic filters without the weird blue plastic strip and metal strips that cause issues like rust and mold.

I purchased the wrong size filter (2 in a pack) and the first one is still in and working well. They are actually a little short and short in the diameter - but it is doing the job well and keeping the home humidified.
