The shelters don't last for ever. Mine lasted about 4 yrs. Got beat up by the elements. Was still intact but some spots you can poke your finger through it and it leaked when it rained. Glad they sell replacement covers. To replace the covers you pretty much have to take the frame apart and start from scratch. Then its like new again.

Q: what is the thckness of material

A: It is the same thickness as the original (brown) cover. The original cover lasted just over 10 years - would have lasted longer but a serious windstorm tossed a rather large branch across the top and tore it. No mil size provided but it is the 9oz version.
