I've had to replace these a few times. Very unfortunate that it's the only one I can find wide enough to fit my opening. They're poorly made and just break.

Purchased this gate for a wide area for my pet. It is sturdy, gate latch a little sticky, but at least it won’t open when not required. Was fairly easy to install. Pressure mounted. Definitely recommend.

This super wide gate was perfect for the wide opening we needed blocked from our new puppy. The walk-through gate is easy to operate.

Upon purchasing this item a few days prior, I observed that the packaging was secured solely with packing tape. After opening the box, I proceeded with the assembly according to the provided instructions. A critical design flaw became apparent during installation: a one-way pin, once inserted, cannot be removed, thereby preventing the re-packaging of the product. Furthermore, the gate's construction is subpar, relying on tension for closure, which ultimately led to it dislodging from its installed position. I attempted to return this item to the Ottawa South CT location, but my request was summarily dismissed upon presentation of the product. I was not afforded the opportunity to articulate the reason for the return, nor to explain that I had already procured a replacement gate from the same establishment. Instead, I was met with an unaccommodating customer service agent who immediately stated, "exchanges only." When I questioned the utility of exchanging a non-fitting product for an identical one, I was informed, "the policy is on the wall and your receipt; it's up to you to read it." My request for management resulted in a similar response: "We didn't make it; we didn't pack it." regarding the return. It appears Canadian Tire's policy is effectively, "We didn't make it; we didn't pack it. If you open it, you are without recourse." A similar scenario unfolded with a customer preceding me, who was attempting to return an item incompatible with its intended purpose. Moving forward, I am reconsidering future purchases from Canadian Tire. The inability to obtain store credit or a refund, coupled with the dismissive and insulting demeanor of the staff, is deeply concerning.
