Two motors and still motionless in my garage.

I rode this bike carefully for about 300 km before the "sealed bearings in the Bafang motor" failed and the cranks became all wobbly. "Can't be fixed - requires new motor". Which CTC provided and installed.
I got even less km out of that one. So, for over a year it's been in my garage and I decided its a dead loss. And, I even have a spare (un-fixable) motor as a keepsake and reminder never to by anything important from Canadian Tire. There is a reason these things are 'clearance'.

Great bike value when purchased on a 50% off sale.
Would be better if it had a more powerful motor but still acceptable with the current 250 watt one.
Also has a good range and warranty.
Definitely recommend.

E-Bike - Poor assembly & Condition

My concerns mainly with store assembly of the bike. Ordered bike on line. |Received notification several hours later that bike ready for pick up. When arrived to pick up the bike it had two flat tires and covered in dust. Have now used twice and verdict still out on quality. The fenders kept rubbing on tires (appeared not assembled correctly?) and the handle bars loose to name a few of the issues encountered. Discovered many screws loose on the bike. When spend over $2000 expect Canadian Tire to do better.

A: It is on the back side of the part of the frame that supports the seat, toward the bottom. You have to look from the back.

A: Mine came with 2 owners manuals attached to the bike. One for the motor and one for the bike itself. If you didn't receive them check with the store, I guess.

A: A regular bike rack will work, as long as it is rated to carry 46 lbs. You could also remove the battery before transport and store it inside your vehicle making sure to follow the storage temperature range shown in the manual.

A: Yes it can be ridden in light rain, however, make sure the plastic protector cap is closed on the battery charging port before riding. After riding be sure to wipe the bike dry, especially the LCD display and battery. Also, be sure to follow the maintenance recommendations in the owners manual.

A: Yes this bike can be ridden, however, keep in mind wet and icy ground conditions seriously reduces traction between tires and road surface. If you have to, take extra caution as the risk of slipping and falling is much higher especially when turning and braking. You will definitely want to change the tires to winter tires or adding studs. Also, keep in mind if you ride through salt make sure you wipe this off soon afterwards to prevent rust from damaging the components. It would be best practice to keep this bike dry between rides. Please also note the operating and storage temperature ranges shown in the ebike manual.

Q: Can we remove the battery for charging? How long is a full charge?

A: Yes the battery can easily be removed from the bike to be charged. You can also charge the battery on the bike if you choose. The bike comes with keys that lock the battery on the bike so it is secure when riding. From empty the battery should fully charge in 7 hours or less.
