Don’t buy this bike unless the “tire blowing off the rim at 40psi” and crashing appeal to you. I was barely 200 meters from my house ON MY FIRST RIDE WITH MY NEW BIKE , at a stop light, stopped, my feet on the ground and the tire blew off the rim! Luckily my fine wife was able to go back home to grab the rechargeable air pump. I re-inflated to 30 psi and rode on. Within 100 meters the tire blew off again! So again I reset it and reinflated to 25 psi. This time I made it home. That’s when I attempted to re-inflate the wheel to 40psi, being the low end off what is printed on the tire. At 36 psi the innertube exploded violently scaring human and dog alike. Now the bike is useless until I replace the innertube, but what causes the tire to blow off the rim

Purchased 2 (yes 2) of this bike. Plus helmets, tool kit, bells, a bike trainer (which unfortunately won’t work since it doesn’t have a rear removable wheel). It is beautiful and poorly assembled bike. Rode 1 for 10 minutes in a parking lot and it felt “off” but it had been years since I had been on a bike. So I contacted the store for the 30 day included adjustment but learned there was/is ZERO support for bikes. I had read the negative reviews but did not believe them. Neither bike was assembled properly the fork was reversed, the brakes are rubbing, both need a proper setup. I’m glad we didn’t ride them as I feel they are unsafe. I am taking to a local bike shop for a proper setup which will cost a couple hundred dollars but our safety is worth it. To my surprise our local shop had similar bikes at the same price but with support. I love Canadian Tire and was definitely disappointed with this experience.

Probably the smoothest, easiest to mount, most comfortable hard tail bicycle that I’ve ever owned. The disc brakes provide a nice positive stop, and there’s no annoying squeak noise from the brake pads hitting high spots on the rim - all my squeeze v calliper brakes seem to have this problem to one extent or another. There was a brief period of crunching noise from the right pedal, and I thought I was going to have to request a replacement, but it resolved itself after an hour. Turning is precise, the wide handgrips provide plenty of cushion and area for my palms so as to reduce fatigue. The supplied seat is just wide enough that I haven’t experienced enough discomfort to replace it with something larger. Supplied water bottle mount accepted a bottle holder accessory with no issues. The chain does contact the rear fork tube in the tallest gear over bumps, and it did chip the paint there. I’m of the mind that Raleigh should have anticipated this and provided protection for this area at this price point, however I have added a protective cover for this particular spot. I’m particularly pleased with the unisex step through design and I think all bicycles should be made this way- sexed bicycles should be relegated to the past. All in all I’m quite happy with this bicycle, the riding experience more than makes up for the relatively minor shortcomings.

Bike is great. Not impressed with the staff at the store though. I was told the bike would be given a once over and checked out before I took it home. It wasn’t.
