The Rainfresh BH010 High-Flow Whole House Water Filter Housing is designed to provide clean and safe water throughout your home. With a flow rate of up to 20 gallons per minute (75 liters per minute), it is ideal for large homes with up to six bathrooms or light commercial applications such as motels, campgrounds, and commercial kitchens. The housing features full 1-in threaded ports, ensuring minimal pressure drop and efficient water flow.

Does the job and does it well

Super easy installation. It uses the same type of connector as a Sharkbite. Input and output are both 3/4”. Uses standard filters. I needed a second stage for fine filtering, this is the unit I went with. With a 25 micron into a 5 micron filter I have awesome pressure in the house still. With the shark it connectors I had it installed in no time.

A: My opinion is that it would work in your RV, just keep in mind that you might need NPT threaded adapters to get the right size of fittings to match your RV plumbing. To prevent it from freezing if that’s a potential issue, just remove the canister and filter before cold weather sets in if you’re not using it in cold weather.

A: 62-1077 (Rainfresh model BH010) is a filter housing only, typically for whole-house filtration. You can use a sediment filter cartridge (62-1078) inside this unit or a chlorine/taste odour filter cartridge (62-1079). Lead reduction is not typically done on a whole house level as 95% of the water is used for purposes other than drinking and as such a lead filter on the main line would be a waste. There are several excellent ways to remove lead from your drinking water. You can install Rainfresh TWIST system (62-1086) under your kitchen sink. This system is tested and certified for lead reduction in addition to chemicals (VOC), parasitic cysts, chlorine taste and odour. It also features a LED monitor that lights up when its time to change the filter cartridge. You may also choose the Dual TWIST system (62-1087) which also reduces chloramines in addition to lead & chemicals. Alternatively if you have an existing standard drinking water system, you can install Rainfresh lead reduction filter cartridge (62-1028), which is also tested for chemical (VOC) chlorine taste and odour.

A: A water filter has 2 parts – filter housing and filter cartridge. The filter housing stays permanently plumbed in to your home whereas the filter cartridge (which does the actual “filtering”) is periodically changed to ensure proper performance. 62-1077 (Rainfresh model BH010) is a filter housing only. To remove chlorine, you can use filter cartridge model BC2 (62-1079) inside the 62-1077 filter housing. With this, you can get >95% reduction of chlorine for 14,000 Us Gallons of water (53,000 Liters). However, the rated flow of the cartridge is 3 US GPM (11.3 LPM). For higher flow rates you can install 2 of these in parallel (water line splits into 2 of these filters and then joins back). Also, it must be protected by a sediment filter (62-1023) to avoid premature plugging of the filter due to dirt.

Q: Is it possible to hook this up to a garden hose? Is there some sort of an adapter where I can hook up a standard garden hose to the inlet of this filter, and have a short outlet? What I'm looking for is portability on this filter so that I can hook it up (with ease) to any garden hose.

A: a garden hose is not a lot larger than a standard copper pipe. you should be able to get the fitting, weasel the end of the garden hose over where the pipe would fit in, then use a clamp to tighten it down. i doubt you would want this on a hose, though, if your thought is to use this to avoid watering your lawn and garden with bleached water. it gets REALLY heavy after a while. for the same amount of money, get a big barrel and position it under your drainspout.

A: Limestone dissolves in water to impart hardness to water. Hard water cannot be softened by sediment filters since the hardness is not a particulate. To remove hardness, we recommend a water softener.

A: This unit removes rust (when equipped with cartridge 62-1078), which is an oxidized form of dissolved iron and is in a particle form. Soluble iron also called Ferrous Iron or Clear Water Iron is dissolved in the water and as such cannot be removed by filtration alone. To remove dissolved iron, there are specialized iron filtering water conditioners that convert dissolved iron to rust and then filter it out. Air-Injection Iron Filters and Greensand Filters are examples of such conditioners that are installed on the main line after the pressure tank and reduce iron levels from the entire house water supply. Rainfresh manufactures a complete line of these conditioners, however we don't carry them.

A: I can't believe they haven't answered your question yet!!! We just bought one of these and the answer is no, it didn't come with the filter cartridge. We will be heading back to town to take care of that purchase tomorrow.
