Stay Clear - Weak Design

I wanted to purchase the same product as seen in this picture. The pictured product was discontinued and replaced with a similiar looking one. The new product operates by a side pressure holding the GPS in place. A weak design to say the least. The sides which hold the GPS worked themselves loose likely because of the ATV vibration and the components were lost on the trail (luckily I had a lanyard on my GPS which was attached to the hand bar). This product is junk! You can actually shake these component loose inside the box!

I have an Explorist GPS and I was going to purchase the OEM mount but it seemed to flimsy for ATV use. I've had this mount for nearly a year now and it is well constructed and easy to mount.

Needs improvements

We have had this GPS Mount for 3 months or so and the straps that hold the GPS have both broken - they need to make some improvements to this item... we'll see if we can return it for a new one..

Q: Is the top portion of this plastic ? Looks like it might get snapped off in the brush.

A: The top portion of the product is made of plastic however it is built for off-road use. Like anything associated with off-roading there is the chance for something to break throughout a tough day on the trails. It is always recommended that the rider tethers the GPS to the handle bars for additional precaution. Thank you for your question and for shopping at Canadian Tire.
