If you have a small job , this may be the perfect product. It is easy to mix up. The instructions for water addition I found were wrong. The product required more water than specified. Add the extra water a little at a time to get the required consistency.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Great product. Smooth texture when dry. Dries well even at 7C, which is when I used it to repair masonry cracks outside, though might take a longer time. Satisfied. Will buy more.

Q: Why this mortar got whitish color after it's got dried? How to get it more greyish?

    2 Answers
    • A: It's possible you have minerals in your water that reacted with it and made it white. If you are going with a desired colour, to made existing mortar, always do a test batch. To eliminate the white result, try using distilled water.

    Q: Why after this

    1 Answer
    • A: QUIKRETE® Mortar Mix will tend to whiten as it cures because the surface is carbonating (forming calcium carbonate). This phenomena is more pronounced when more water than necessary is used. Carbonation sits on the exterior of the mortar and does not impact the durability or strength of the mortar. For cosmetic reasons, the carbonation can be removed using a mild acid wash (1 part vinegar to 4 parts water). It may re-appear as efflorescence if there is an active water migration source on one side of the mortared wall. Future efflorescence can be removed in the same fashion.

Q: What shade of grey is this?

    1 Answer
    • A: The QUIKRETE® Mortar Mix contains a gray base cementitious material. The shade of gray will depend on multiple factors such as water content, type of finish, timing of when surface finish is placed, and environmental conditions. It is always difficult to get a color match when making repairs. We always recommend trialing a small quantity of the repair material in an inconspicuous area, and allowing it to cure for one week to determine whether the color and overall appearance are acceptable before using the material in less discrete areas.
