Almost a miracle worker.

Had to apply in cold weather (about 4C) for multiple medium cracks (0.5cm to 1cm) for a walkway between houses, that was beginning to allow leaks into the basement. Cleaned the debris and made clean looking edges on the original, ancient concrete. using a wire barbecue brush. Used a very watery mixture to pour down the cracks as a first layer. Several hours later, applied normal thickness mixture of this over the top and smoothed it out. The temperature went down to almost zero overnight (this is NOT what to do). One year later, all the cracks except one have held beautifully, and I can't believe how much water it stopped entering our basement. I need to fix the one patch that cracked. The fact this did so well, so easily, under such horrible conditions, has made me a huge fan of this product. Bravo.

Just add 600 water and mix with drill and stir attachmant. Trowel in place. Greta for all concrete repairs Wait a full month to coat with a tinted hardrock coating

A: Each 4.5 Kg pail of QUIKRETE Vinyl Concrete Patch will yield approximately 0.09 cubic feet of mixed product. At ¼”, this volume will cover an area of 4.3 square feet. Although these yields are approximate and will vary with waste, uneven substrate or application, etc.

Q: could this product be used to repair a driveway in poor condition?

A: QUIKRETE® Vinyl Concrete Patcher is designed to make thin repairs to spalled, cracked or pitted concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, steps or any other horizontal concrete surface. This product is for patching use only. Not for use as a concrete resurfacer. If a sidewalk or driveway needs to be completely resurfaced, use QUIKRETE® ReCap Concrete Resurfacer (#1131-47) or QUIKRETE® Sand Mix (#1103) with QUIKRETE® Concrete Acrylic Fortifier (#8610) added.

A: QUIKRETE® Vinyl Concrete Patcher does not have a specific flame and heat rating after it is cured. QUIKRETE® Vinyl Concrete Patcher contains Portland cement, which can degrade in temperatures as low as 200 °F. Products that will directly be in contact with the high heat, should be made of refractory cement, rather than the Portland cement used in QUIKRETE® Vinyl Concrete Patcher. Refractory cement is designed to be able to withstand exposure to high temperatures.

A: Yes. We would suggest reviewing the paint manufacturer’s instructions for how soon it can be applied over freshly placed concrete. Typically the minimum waiting periods are 7 days for water based latex based paints or 28 days for oil based paints.

Q: Undercutting required? Do I have to undercut the area being repaired? The concrete around my basement floor drain is crumbling.

A: It is not necessary to undercut the damaged area around your drain as Quikrete Concrete Repair Products are designed to bond to clean concrete surfaces, however the key to any successful concrete repair is the removal of all deteriorated concrete in and around the area to be repaired. Procedure 1. Remove any loose, delaminated or contaminated concrete using a hammer and chisel or by mechanical means 2. Wire brush the entire surface to be repaired removing any remaining loose debris 3. Flush with water to remove dust particles 4. Remove any puddles of water from the repair leaving a damp surface 5. Apply the selected Quikrete Concrete Repair Material to a damp surface 6. Using a trowel force the repair material into the damaged area starting at the bottom and working towards the sides and top, trowel to a smooth finish and protect until hardened Selected Repair Materials 1. For concrete repairs of 1/8” – 3/8” in thickness use Vinyl Concrete Patcher or Concrete Resurfacer 2.
