I was forced to buy this product because the Motomaster product new packaging would not fit my pump and the motomaster pump did not fit the new package either.
I do not trust the motomaster gear oil products and do not recommend them.

Q: Hi can anyone clarify if this is only used for outboards 75hp and less or can I use this on my 115hp merc outboard? The back of the bottle says for all outboards and jet drives under 75HP. Does the 75HP only apply to the jet drives or the outboards aswell

A: Thank you for your question. The Premium Gear Lube should only be used in applications less than 75HP be it Outboard or Jet Drive. For applications above 75HP please use the High Performance Gear Lube (0281766) instead.

Q: My Tohatsu 25hp outboard manual recommends API GL-5 SAE 80 to 90 oil for the lower unit. This bottle doesn't say anything about specifications. is it safe to use?

Q: I have 2 Tanaka outboard motors (1,2HP and 3HP). The owner's manual calls for 90 weight Hypoid Gear Oil. Will this oil do the job? Thanks

A: Yes, the Premium Gear Lube will do the job. Premium gear lube is 80W90 and is recommended by Mercury for al of our lower horsepower gear cases from 2HP through 60HP
