Have been using for years
a year ago
1I have been using these for fencing in my gardens for over 5 years and they keep the deer out. To extend thier life, I take them down every winter and store them in my shed. They are lasting so good that when I expanded my garden I had to buy more. They are easy to work with, staple up to my 2x2s with ease and work great.

Q: Can you suggest other fence posts that would work well? I can't get the fence posts suggested at the 5 Canadian Tires within 200km of me!

A: You can find pressure treated fence posts of varying circumferences and lengths at most hardware stores and farm supply stores.

A: No it holds up great in the winter. Get yourself some tempo rope and pass through the netting from post to post. It held up great for me

Q: A reviewer mentioned this was squirrel resistant -- would it also keep out rabbits? They chew down our hydrangeas every winter almost to ground level.

A: Hello, This is a rigid barrier adequate to keep unwanted deer and rodents at bay. But if there was excessive chewing by a rodent such as a rabbit it would eventually chew its way through this plastic fence. Best regards Quest Team

Q: To get a sense of the strength, can this fencing be ripped by hand? Is it the really lightweight kind that is closer to bird netting, or more substantial?

Q: Will this work with t posts for elk, too?

A: Hi Monica, thank you for reaching out. We have not tested this mesh for Elk. My only concern is that Elk is much larger breed and can grow to be double the weight of a deer. It will create a visual barrier but as mentioned I am unsure if it will have the same deterrent against Elk. If you install the deer mesh and put the top portion on a 45 degree angle it deters deer from jumping it. As for the T-posts you would have to ensure you have posts long enough to support the mesh and then get about a foot in the ground to support it. Canadian Tire does sell a post specifically for this application, 59-2588. I hope this assists you. Best regards, Quest Brands

Q: What does "folded format" mean? Also, would I need T-posts?

A: The vendor replied that “folded” just refers to the final packaging. They fold the 7’ roll down to a 3.5’ retail package so it is more manageable for the consumer to take home. Regarding installation, you can use t-posts or any other large support to help secure the netting upright.
