Not so hot heater

I purchased mine just over a year ago and haven't needed it till now. I guess I must have gotten a lemon being that most of the reviews here are very positive. This thing wouldn't even heat a small closet. Not satisfied at all.

we run this in the fall/winter to spring and it is fantastic. Heats the room fast and quietly....doesn't cost much to run either. Child and pet friendly also. perfect little heater.

heats a small space nicely

Bought one of these to provide a little additional heat to the coldest room in the house. Works well, rather then turning up the furnace for the entire house we are able to heat the space when in use.

I purchased this heater three years ago and have used it every winter. It works as well now as it did the the day I purchased it.
It is quiet and no part of the outside gets hot, which is especially nice if you have children or pets.
I don't believe that it heats 1000 square feet but it will heat a large room quickly, especially if you are able to close the door to keep the heat in.
I am going to purchase a second one but my next one will have a remote.

Only really good for small spaces like Offices or Bedrooms only heats couple square feet but other than that a great space Heater.

Q: If the power goes out will it come back on automaticaly with the power and keep the same heating settings as before the power cut I want this as a backup in case my furnace fails when I am away . This should stop the pipes form freezing . It needs to come back on automatically ( preferably with the same settings after power cuts

Q: Do the elements have to be replaced? It says the elements last up to 20,000 hours. Do these have to be replaced, and where can I find new ones for what price?

Q: Can I get a temperature of 50 deg celsius for the whole room for sweating out? I need it for 10 minutes

A: The Portable Furnace is not design for that purpose, the highest setting on the heater is 30, so when it reaches the that temperature will shut off.

Q: Does the Classic model have the same type of timer as the Platinum model?

A: Classic unit has a timer (after x amount of hours the unit will shut off). Platinum has a timer, but it also has a delay start (in x amount of hours the unit will start heating, this is a great feature to save energy for when people are out working and to program the heater to turn on an hour or two before getting home).

Q: Will this heat a house of just under 800 sq feet?

A: It will heat up to 1000 square feet when using the 1500W heat setting. We would not, however, recommend this to be the only source of heat for the home. If there are rooms in the home that have doors that are going to being closed, the heat would not be able to reach those rooms.
