I have 5 or 6 of these on my ice rods. Great bang for you buck. Never had an issue with them. Always works as intended.

I bought this reel last year for a panfish outfit that needed a reel to match it, thought i'd save money and get the smallest, lightest reel I could find. For the first few outings the drag worked OK, However, its been one full year later and when I went to test the drags on my reels for the upcoming Ice season, this reel's drag slips and jumps so badly that its impossible to even properly set the drag on the reel to where its consistent. You might get away with using this reel on small fish where no drag is required, but when you hook into jumbo perch and the odd pike, this reel won't help you at all. Another point to add is that there is just too many plastic parts on this thing. The inside of the bale is plastic, a part that should be strictly metal. Do yourself favour and spend the extra $20 on a shimano Sienna 500. Shimano ALWAYS has quality products that wont let you down.
