I have a number of Mastercraft tools that are powered by the pwr pod batteries. There are some that have a high draw on power and sometimes you're on the roof or doing work and don't want to be interupted having to change batteries. I have several of the 4.0 and 5.0 batteries and while they are good, the 8.0 is really good. It lasts a long time and delivers a lot of power to the tools that have a high power draw.
It's heavier than the others and of course more expensive. But well worth the investment. Look for it on sale (buy 2 if you can) and you'll be happy you did.
The only drawback is that it takes 2x as long to charge. I picked up a higher rate fast charger so that it doesn't take so long, but if you plan things out you can charge this one while using the 4.0 and 5.0 batteries to do work at the same time.

Great Battery For Long Use

This battery is great for all pwr pod compatible tools you use once you get used to the weight (for hand power tools anyway) and provides all the power you could really need. I was able to pair this with the mastercraft 20v inverter tool during a power outage to make sure my phone and other devices stayed charged and was also able to power a smart tv for a few hours which required alot of power

Q: I understand this works on my regular 20volt Mastercraft drills and reciprocating saw. Will it also charge from a non-PWR POD regular 20v Mastercraft charger ?

A: I have both a Mastercraft charger and a PWR POD charger and the charging bars in the chargers are the same. So, the PWD POD battery should work.

Q: the battery is reading 0 volts. the charger will not recognize it. how do I charge?

A: Check the connections and if all clean, not much you can do unless you understand how the device work. Return to place of purchase under warrantee if possible.

Q: Does this PWR POD have a built in low voltage cut off sensor built into the battery? I know the mastercraft tools have this built into them were i don't believe the woods brands have this feature. Please advise

A: PWR POD battery is equipped with built-in Voltage Disconnect Sensor as well. By monitoring voltage, current, temperature, etc. the battery could manage the tension and current through itself, which forms PWR POD's powerful battery management system.
