Q: Toilet tank fill valve measurements - how does this relate to the product part naming convention? They are advertised as 8.5", 10" and 12" ... measuring WHAT at these values??? Put in a diagram to show how you obtain these measurements, please!!!!!

A: The fill valves come in different lengths. Shut off your water source, drain the tank ( flush toilet), and measure the valve from the bottom of the tank to the top of the valve. That will tell you what size you need.
