Simple to use, perfect cooking everytime.

I have had this grill/smoker about a year. Prior to this I had three grills I used. 1. Propane Grill: Light and go convenience made this the go to grill. 2. Komodo style charcoal: Loved the taste of the food and the reasonably simple operation, but it takes a good 45 minutes to an hour before you are really cooking, plus they are a mess to clean. 3. Traditional Offset "pipe" style smoker: Requires constant babysitting. This is for the person that wants to make cooking/smoking an art. I have no interest in feeding, adjusting, etc. every 30 minutes, and still dealing with temp swings based on the wind, the sun, they age of the wood being used, etc... Enter the Pit Boss pellet grill. I know Traeger and others exist, but they are cost prohibitive in my mind. This grill (purchased at Academy sport in Texas) is not inexpensive, but it did allow for entry into the pellet grill space and the wonderful T-Stat controlled fire box without totally breaking the bank! If nothing else, Pit Boss pellet grills great just for the control and price. However, I can say I have turned out some of the best steaks, burgers, fish, kabobs and chops of my life using this grill. This thing is easy to use, consistent in cooking and gets great results. Cleanup is simple, operation is easy, and the food is never gone wrong because of the grill/fire, etc... Two downsides: 1. It requires electricity. There is no real way around this, the heating element that starts and burns the pellets, as well as the auger need some form of power. I use this next to the garage in the back yard (where all my grills have always been), so no biggie for me. However, I am planning to keep the Komodo because in Houston, you have no idea what the power situation will be post storm, so having something that can burn with no electricity is good. 2. While this grill does get hot, it is not going to be a hard sear on your steaks. Now, I realize I may be the minority, but I have never really liked the whole "candy coating crunch like sear" on my meat. I get it seals in the juice when you are broiling, but I have never had a dry steak come off the Pit Boss. In fact, they are always amazingly juicy and tender, plus smoking them for 20 minutes prior to cooking give them amazing flavor. Thus, while this is a downside for some, it is no biggie for me. As you can tell, I think this grill is great. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Yes, I recommend this product.

This thing cooks great. I bought it 5 months ago and I'm not sure how many times I've used it but I know I've used 2 40 pound and at least 5 20 pound bags of pellets. That's alot of cooking because this thing does not use many pellets while smoking. You will use quite a bit more pellets if you're grilling but it's still well worth it. Cleaning this thing is not an easy task but overall I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I received the grill as a gift and was very impressed. I had been looking to try a pellet smoker for a while. Now I hardly cook on charcoal.

Yes, I recommend this product.
