Q: can it be used to replace the front orange O ring (used with front plate)of vaccuum pump of vw jetta 2.5 2012.or there is any other bette option?
6 years agoA: Hello, thank you for your question regarding Permatex® Optimum® Black for use as replacement to a leaking o-ring seal on the vacuum pump. This is somewhat of an unusual application so the answer is not readily available. In review of various Volkswagen forums, it appears that a number of owners have been successful using Permatex Gasket Makers for this application. Permatex® Optimum® Black would be a good option. Be sure to clean both surfaces thoroughly and use a plastic scrapper to remove any debris. Be sure to follow the instructions on the Optimum® Black® package. Allow 24 hours for full cure before re-filling fluids and operating the vehicle. Thank you.
