Disappointed

Not at all effective.....

Worry free adhesive

Used this for a small upholstery repair and it worked perfectly. Just a note that there is no real working time so you need to place your material well.

Sticks very well

Be careful! This stuff sticks and doesn’t let go. It is not temporary and won’t come off easily. However, it sticks things well. Used it in the van and to reglue plastic.

Good product!

Worked great for my headliner restoration!

Works good but the can is HUGE and nearly 20 bucks. For a small repair, it's overkill.

Product seems to work good, but the amount I had to buy was ridiculous. I needed to glue up the rear headliner in my car which took about 1 percent of the amount in this can. I would have liked to be able to buy a smaller amount. I now have a nearly 20 dollar can of spray glue to sit in my garage for the next 20 years.

Questions

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Q: Is it water based or solvent based? Also, is it tacky right the way or do you need to wait a few minutes?

2 Answers
  • A: It is solvent base. It needs to dry a few minutes before sticking parts together.

Q: How heavy does it smell when spraying? I am very sensitive to fumes. Does it leave a hard line at the seams of the sprayed product?

2 Answers
  • A: Hello Askanythin, thank you for your question on Permatex® Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive. This product will have a similar smell to other adhesive sprays. Likely similar to non-water based aerosol spray paints. This adhesive is "heavy-duty", both in performance and spray texture. It is not like craft sprays or other fine-mist adhesives. The adhesive will spray thick and heavy. It is formulated this way to ensure it will adhere vehicle carpeting, headliners, trunk linings, etc. The spray pattern is cone shaped. For areas that should not get sprayed, we recommend covering them with masking tape or disposable cardboard. Thank you for your question.

Q: Could this product be used as vinyl wallpaper adhesion and would it hold up in cold temperatures?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello Linda L, thank you for your question on Permatex Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive. This product has a low temperature range to -40C after full cure. However, we do not recommend this product for adhering wallpaper. It is very thick and not designed for use on thin materials. We have never used this product on wallpaper, but it is possible that the thin surface may not result in a perfectly smooth appearance. Thank you for your question.

Q: Will this glue on wood? Glueing marine vinyl on wood on my boat floor

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question on Permatex® Heavy Duty Spray Adhesive. This is an interesting question. It is possible that this Spray Adhesive could work, however we do have some concerns. 1) This spray adhesive is water-resistant, but it is not water-proof. There could be a concern if the floor you are covering gets submerged or saturated with water. 2) As a spray product, it is not designed to fill large gaps. If the floor is uneven or has large gaps between the matting surfaces, the spray adhesive will not fill those gaps. (A contact adhesive that is designed to be brushed-on would fill these those gaps). I'm sorry we could not provide more a definitive answer. Thank you.

Q: Would this product seal cracks in a heavy duty plastic dog crate?

1 Answer
  • A: Yes technically…but it is really for adhering materials rather than fixing gaps and cracks. If they are adhering material to the bottom of the crate for the repair then yes, but there are better options for a lasting structural repair. We would suggest: 038-3718 84125 PERMAPOXY PLASTIC WELD 25ML SYRINGE • fast setting epoxy in an easy to use 2-part dispensing syringe • better choice than super glues for bonding parts with larger gaps • can be drilled, machined, filed & painted • resists most liquids including fuels and solvents • cream appearance • sets in 5 minutes • permanent strength - up to 3500 PSI • temperature range: -51°C to 121°C (-60°F to 250°F) Applications: Bonds most plastic, interior trim, fills cracks, plastic to vinyl, ABS, acrylic, fiberglass, glass, PVC, steel, styrene, vinyl, wood. This will give you far longer lasting results.
