Permatex® Dielectric Tune-Up Grease protects electrical connections, ignition parts and wiring from moisture, salt, dirt and corrosion. It prevents voltage leakage and arcing, resulting in a stronger spark and maximum fire power. It also prevents fusing and tearing of spark plug boots and provides high temperature lubrication on rubber, plastic and ceramic. Dielectric Grease improves electrical connections and extends the service life of bulbs, lamps, switches, rotor caps and terminals.

However, depending on the specific plastic composition that you have and how the grease will be used, first checking with the manufacturer of the plastic parts may be advised. Dielectric Grease is designed to protect electrical connections, prevent voltage leakage and to insulate connections from salt, dirt and corrosion. A light coating of dielectric grease can to help to prevent corrosion on battery terminals. Another product specifically designed for battery posts is 038-3726-8 Permatex Battery Protector & Sealer.
