A superior weatherstrip adhesive ideal for many applications including rubber, metal, automotive carpeting, fabric-backed vinyl, upholstery and automotive gaskets. Bijan, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that this product did not meet your expectations. Please note that this adhesive is a contact cement. This contact cement is formulated specifically to bond rubber to metal. For best results, follow the instructions on the product label: 1. Clean and dry all surfaces thoroughly. Use an abrasive to remove any residue. 2. Apply a thin, even film to both surfaces. 3. Let surfaces dry until adhesive becomes very tacky (5 - 10 minutes). 4. Press surfaces together with firm contact. Parts can be repositioned within a short period. 5. Maximum bond strength is achieved after the adhesive is completely dry. Q: Will it bond weatherstripping to metal? My weatherstripping, in the winter time gets some water on it and freezes to my truck's door. I need an adhesive to bond the weatherstripping to the truck's lip so as to not have it readily 'peeled' off.

A: Permatex Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (38-3746) certainly works best at near room temperature. In cold temperatures, as described below, it is recommended to apply moderate heat for best results.
