Ultra Black is sensor safe, low odor, and non-corrosive with resistance to oil, shop fluids, and vibration. Q: Can this be used instead of cork gasket on a gas generator carberator
5 years agoA: This gasket maker is an OEM approved, high-quality gasket sealant formulated to resist oil, coolant, transmission oil and other shop fluids. However, it is not resistant to gasoline or gasoline vapor. Therefore, it is not recommended for use as a gasket replacement on a gas generator carburetor.

Q: What is the difference between "Ultra Black RTV Gasket Maker, 80-mL" (038-3722) & "Black Gasket Maker, 80 mL" (38-3717) ?????
6 years agoA: Ultra Black RTV Gasket Maker, 80-mL (0383722P) has superior adhesion to oily surfaces and resistance to powertrain fluids including engine, transmission, rear end and radiator fluids. This product is also OEM specified.

Q: Whats the curing time on this product? Is it high temp and high pressure safe?
12 years agoA: DIRECTIONS: 1. For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent, such as Permatex® Brake & Parts Cleaner. 2. Cut nozzle to desired bead size – gaskets are best formed using a 1/16? to 1/4? bead. 3. Apply a continuous and even bead of silicone to one surface, surrounding all bolt holes. Remove excess with knife at once. Assemble parts immediately. Do not squeeze out silicone by overtightening bolts. Re-torque will not be necessary. 4. Silicone dries in 1 hour, and fully cures in 24 hours, at 70?F - 50% relative humidity. Allow more time in cold weather. 5. Replace cap after use. Clean hands with dry cloth or Permatex® Fast Orange® Hand Cleaner. Clean tools with non-flammable cleaning fluid. NOTE: Not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts in contact with gasoline.

Q: is this suitable for sealing a vacuum down to 20kPa (no liquid contact), and is it removable? room temp and up to 40C; a product needed to give a seal between a hard rubber base (that holds a vacuum chamber) and a hard plastic layer (that has imbedded flexible membranes that are exposed to an oscillating vacuum)
12 years agoA: this product will perform under those conditions. It is also removable using our Gasket Remover and/or a little elbow grease. The product will hold provided there is a minimal amount of oscillation. This product was not designed to hold a vacuum hose and be flexible. It was meant to seal 2 surfaces together with a fairly tight tolerance, namely engine parts and metal covers. For additional info, please call : 1 866.564.8461. They might be able to delve a little deeper and find a solution for this

Q: Is this suitable for use in an ATV carburetor? Can it come in contact with gasoline?
13 years agoA: No. This is not and ideal product to come into contact with fuel as it will erode the silicone. We suggest you use 0382523. MotoSeal ultimate gasket maker. It was specialty designed for these applications.
