Pelican 10ft kayak.

This is a very good kayak for the price. Full keel--plenty of storage--stable. Most reviewers found this canoe stable as do I.Those that did not should stay off the water as they do not have the skill to handle a stable kayak.

Yes, I recommend this product.

This is not for a newbie

I'm a kayak newbie and I bought one of this model Kayak. This kayak is not stable, is very tippy, I flipped over twice and was not fun. This is what a Pelican customer support told me about this model "The Maxim 100x is made for performance, is it less stable because it is made for speed." It would be good if each of the kayak models could have a reference of what level is made for: Beginner, Intermediate, Expert like the Pelican webpage has. The information about the Hull type is also relevant. I have chosen by price and by the wonderful comments about this model, and I have chosen the wrong one for me. Returned next day.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent choice

Our family bought two of these to try out and they work excellent. So well in fact that we bought two more. Our dog rides with one of us in the back depression. They're still stable even when he goes to one side or the other. No regrets with our purchases!!!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Kayak and I had a great time at the Canoe to Sea

I bought this kayak on sale, along with a paddle and PFD. We participated in this year's Canoe to Sea event on the Shubenacadie River, to get our feet wet. :) I capsized twice, mostly due to inexperience. The kayak did what it could. If you're 200 lbs or more, consider a 12 foot boat. It got me through some 3 foot standing waves well into the adventure, when I was more comfortable. It could take a skirt, but usually that would be a nusiance. Very comfortable and decent room for accessories. The storage areas are NOT waterproof, but sturdy and roomy enough for a dry bag with your valuables. It tracks well, and I kept up with the sea kayaks for the most part. Easy to transport and lift. I just strapped it to the roof of our car with some cargo belts, cushioned by a pool noodle sawn in half. It will be perfect in calmer waters, and once I get a bit more skillful, will do fine on the tidal bore.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Tough basic kayak

For a beginner paddler, this proved to be a tough and relatively light-weight kayak.
