The canoe is great. Assembly instructions were too simplistic and need more detail. The screws that attach the seats to the sides of the canoe are too long. I would scratch my hand on them when padding so I cut them flush with the nut using a Dremel tool.

Pleased with the canoe however it is narrower than our old canoe we affectionally called leaky canoe. So leaky canoe was more stable in the water. Any suggestions that could help stabilize our new canoe.

A: The one at the Marathon Ontarko Cdn Tire is an assembled floor model so the 1/2 answer provided isn't fully responding to the question about if they are removable... What's involved with removing that centre-cooler (several questions here include complaints about water sloshing in the cooler/centre piece so can it be removed after original install?

Q: Just purchased this canoe. The other day it took on a bit of water while exiting and now i hear a bunch of water sloshing around inside of the canoe. Cant seem to figure out where the water is and how to get it out, not even upside down helps. Any ideas?

A: Actually, you can change the orientation of the seats by removing the seat, disassembling the seat, and then reassembling the seat in the opposite direction. This takes about 20 minutes so it is not something you would do frequently.
