These things are awful. The plastic case cracks over time. The dampers also stop working after about a year. Overpriced junk.

Q: Can this be used for drawers? My drawers are closing teem self's at the last 1-2 inches and slam.

A: Unfortunately this type of damper would not function properly on a drawer. The small damper piston on these is not the correct length for a drawer.

Q: Can this be used pointing up to prevent a toy box lid from slamming shut? Have not liked the hinge options so am looking for a bumper of sorts.

A: It all depends on the amount of force being applied to the damper, but in this case the answer is almost certainly “no”. These dampers are designed to take the force of a door that swings horizontally which isn’t very much. With a vertically closing door like a toy chest the door is constantly being pulled by gravity while it closes, causing it to accelerate. For any decent sized toy chest that is going to result in a lot more force than these dampers can handle.
