This Product Is NO Good

Bought this product to use as a kitchen backsplash-corners and edges all curled up within 24 hours-funny it says in the package that glue MAY be necessary-they should have just sold glue with the tiles!!! These tiles are garbage!!! I wish I had of took a picture of the mess before I spent all day gluing this stuff to the wall.

The instructions INSIDE the package state: "NEVER install on fresh paint. Allow minimum of a few weeks for the paint to dry before installing Peel&Impress tiles." Seriously?!? Who renos a bathroom over a course of a FEW WEEKS. This is ridiculous! If this information had been available on the outside of the package, I would have never chosen this product. (Which is why it is probably hidden inside the package.) As is, the paint had a few days to dry and I applied regardless. Sure enough, they keep peeling off at the edges. Hoping that repeated smoothing and the addition of sealant at the edges will help. Fingers crossed.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: How long must I wait prior to installing tiles on a fresly painted wall?

2 Answers

A: 4-6 weeks is the MINIMUM amount of time after painting a wall. Again, this is the minimum and you should always check with the paint manufacturer to find out curing period. If the paint isn't fully cured, it will not allow the adhesive on the tile to bond to the wall.
