I bought this stand for my enclosed apartment balcony where it is protected from the wind. It works well for my purposes.

Don't waste your money

It will keep your umbrella in place until the first strong breeze comes along. Even with the umbrella unopened, we have to store it laying down because it tips anytime it's even a bit windy. We have another style of base we use on the same deck and same umbrella that has never tipped... This base just isn't heavy enough or balanced well enough and so was a waste of money.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: #88-1448-2 Umbrella Base. What is it made of, its weight, and it's diameter? Answers posted by 'PatioInfo' recently seem to flatly refute earlier answers from CT – very confusing. I hope CT experts can help me and others.

A: The umbrella base is made out of steel. It is 15" in diameter and weighs approx. 10 lbs.
