PadLocker Hygenic Pad Disposal System

I iked the idea that the pipipads never touch the plastic container and are all locked in together in a bag when you insert one in through the flap that springs shut pretty well. I don't like getting my hand trapped in there when inserting the pipipad. It's kind of gross even though I make sure I fold the pipipads so I'm not in contact with any urine when I insert them. I guess it's the same idea as a diaper locker for babies, but I have never tried one of those before so I can't say if this is better or worse. I've heard that there are some models of diaper lockers that seal off each individual diaper in plastic so that they all look like a chain of sausages when you empty the pail. I wish this Padlocker were like that because when it is time to empty the PadLocker, the smell is just as bad as if I had left it in my regular garbage can because all the pipipads are collected together and you have to make sure that you pull out enough of the bag to make sure you make a big enough knot on each end to trap the odor inside and tie it closed. The blade works really well, but if there is any pipi residue on the cut end, it will smell. That's why it is important to pull out a lot of plastic bag to make sure you have a clean section to tie off a new knot, which ends up being really expensive in refills. But the thing that bothers me the most is that the top lid has a really tiny lip that makes it hard, practically impossible, to fully close when the refill is in place. I don't know if mine broke really easily or it's just a flaw in the design, but it just never closes. So I get the impression that there is always some odor that is leaking out because of that. For the price I paid, I thought it would be more solid and airtight. All that to say, I had originally planned to leave the PadLocker in the puppy's room by her pipipad, but now I leave the PadLocker outside on the balcony on the other side of the house. Sort of defeats the purpose since I could just as easily throw the pipipads directly in the garbage outside. I guess once I use up all the refills, I will just chuck the whole thing in the garbage too. Too bad that for a "Made in Quebec" product, it wasn't more useful. I think it's not so bad of a short-term investmenet if bought on sale.

J'ai acheté ce produit et je suis ravie de mon achat ! Très pratique, je la place juste à côté de la litière, et voilà, plus besoin d'aller jeter les besoins de pitou dans la toilette ni d'être envahi par les odeurs en les jetant dans la poubelle de la maison.
