Smashed burgers

This grill is working really well for making burger patties in the BBQ. It’s quick and the meat stays juicy and crisp around the edges and does not fall through the grill.

Terrible Product

I recommend that you do not buy this product. They claim that it is pre-seasoned, it either is not or was very poorly seasoned. Everything sticks to it and sticks so badly you cannot remove the stain and grit even using cast iron approved salt crystals. I have perfectly seasoned cast iron pans so believe me I know the difference between a properly seasoned pan and one that is not.
On top of this Canadian Tires return policy only allows for an exchange. Meaning you must exchange it for another grill pan. They only have 3 pan choices. The one you have bought. Another “pre-seasoned” product or a light weight aluminum pan. I asked for a refund or at least a store credit and they refused. Very poor customer service. I’ll be shopping less at CT and more at local suppliers who care about customer service.

Excellent cast iron pan

Was nervous as reviews said it was very heavy but if you use 2 hands, its just fine. First cooking session it tasted very metallic, so I seasoned 2 more times and havent had that problem since.

Q: Can I use it as a pizza s/baking steel? And can I heat the oven to 550 F?

A: I have used it on my BBQ at temps over 550 without issues. Don't see any potential issue with cooking a pizza on it. It does heat fast and retain heat for long. I would be careful not to burn the crust if heating that high

Q: What is best solution for preventing steaks from sticking when searing?

A: Place the griddle over the heat and let it get good and hot. A few drops of water splashed on should dance and sizzle. Lightly grease the pan. Use a grease on the pan that has a high smoke-point, like lard or ghee(clarified butter). If your pan is seasoned well (and it won’t be when it’s new) you may not need grease. Then lay the meat on. It should instantly sizzle. Wiggle the food around a bit shortly after dropping it on the pan, this helps prevent it from glueing itself down. Hope this helps. :-)

Q: Some are saying that this doesn't work on an induction stove as the outer lip is higher than the pan. Is this true?

A: It 100% has a raised lip on both sides center is probably 1/4" off the surface, maybe look for one that is single sided.

Q: Can you please tell me if this fits most gas stoves? And sorry for this question (insert eye roll) does this sit on the grates or do you remove and set upon the igniters…lol.

A: Hello, The PADERNO reversible griddle is suitable for open fire and fits most gas stoves. Also, it is better to use the grates for the heat of the fire to play out fully.

A: Hello, The maximum temperature limit for the frying pan is 280 Celsius degrees. Also, we recommend avoiding dry burning it at the highest temperature and letting it cool naturally after use.

Q: The ad says it's good for any cook top. I have an electric glass top. I find it hard to believe cast iron won't scratch it instantly. Has anyone used it on a similar cook top?
