    An Ideal Basic Set

I have cooked a lot lately with cast iron, but there are situations in which cast iron just will not do. I prefer stainless steel to use on stove top elements and when cooking any kind of acidic sauces like tomato sauce. This is a limited edition set for Canada's 150th birthday. That's stamped right on the bottom of the pots and pans. Very nice! All of the items look sleek and attractive for any modern kitchen. The items are heavier than a previous set I had, but I think that shows the quality and durability of the set. It's a basic set: Dutch over, 2 reasonably sized saucepans, and a frying pan. Sometimes that's all you need. With this, you don't have to concern yourself with items in the set that you may rarely use or duplicates of other cookware you may already have. It's 18/10 stainless steel, the best and according to my measurements, the base of each item is 4 mm. A bonus is that everything has a lid and the lids are stainless steel, not tempered glass. The lids are also built to keep moisture in while you're cooking. This set is on sale, has a warranty for 25 years, and it's made in Prince Edward Island. I don't know what more anyone could want in a cookware set.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Can you use on gas stove top?

    1 Answer
    • A: Happy Canada 150, you purchased a great Made in PEI cookware set. Absolutely, this set is compatible on all stovetops including gas and induction. Please ensure gas flames are kept at low to medium as these pots only require these settings because they are very heat efficient. Overheating will discolor the stainless steel to bluish and yellowish hue.
