Easy to Operate

I am enjoying the 6-tray stainless steel tray dehydrator and so far it's working great. I've been experimenting with it and learning the hard way about the importance of proper prep for the food being dehydrated (like crazing (blanching) cranberries). This model is super easy to operate. I like being able to see through the top and front. I originally wanted the 9-tray but am now very glad it was out of stock as the 6-tray fits perfectly in the space I have for it. I wish I would have bought the mats, too. I think stainless steel is a smart move given the concern around plastics.

No sooner had this arrived and I put it to work. I dried nearly a gallon of apricots over several days. I also made Kale chips. Compared to other less expensive dehydrators - I think this heat distribution is much more even and exact. I also appreciate being able to set the timer so easily - so that it will shut off on its own. It's compact but holds plenty. I am pleased with this purchase and expect it to serve me well for years.

I bought my first Excalibur dehydrator around 2007 and am still using it. I bought 2 more for my adult children. I expanded to this 6 tray and love the steel trays, and the digital controls! I have been more than satisfied with these dehydrators
