Midea DUO air conditioner

This air conditioner has made a huge difference in our comfort level. We live in a older country home with no ductwork going upstairs. I bought a different unit last year that just exits the air as it cools. Trouble was it has to bring in air from the house. Eventually the bedrooms started to smell like attic. This Midea DUO brings air in and exhausts it eliminates the smell. I wish I knew a little more about this last year. Easy to operate and also not very loud. No different than having a fan running. Extremely happy with it and I'd buy another for the sunroom. Highly recommended. 5 stars isn't enough.

Do not buy this brand and product!!! absolutely disappointment

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel like I have to warn others.
I bought this Midea portable AC because I believed I was paying for quality. It cost me $800 CAD, and after only two summers it stopped cooling. The fan still runs, but the unit no longer does the one thing it's supposed to do.
What disappointed me even more was the customer service. I reached out to Midea explaining the situation, told them I had already cleaned the unit and tried all the troubleshooting steps, and even provided the serial number since I couldn't recover my receipt. Their answer was simply that it was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do.
A $800 air conditioner should last a lot longer than two summers. I expected much better from a brand that I trusted enough to buy twice.
I'm beyond disappointed and honestly feel like I wasted my money. I won't be buying another Midea product, and I can't recommend this brand to anyone. There are too many other options out there to take the risk of spending this kind of money on something that fails so quickly.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Nice upgraded portable AC

So far so good with these Midea portable AC. It cools the room down quickly and is fairly quiet for a portable unit. The dehumidifier function is nice too on the East Coast when it is not always hot, but usually humid.

Not working after 1 week

I bought this one week ago to replace a previous Midea air conditioner from Canadian Tire and there's already a code EH61 showing and cooling is intermittent. I'm very unhappy about the quality of this expensive dual hose air conditioner and will be contacting the store about it.

- A: I'm answering my own question....... by removing the window screen and using a piece of 1/4" plywood cut the same size as the screen, then using the included duo-hose window attachment as a template, I cut a hole of that size in the plywood, screwed the hose attachment to the outside of the plywood and then clicked the hose though the hole onto the plastic piece, then inserted that into the window as if it were the screen. Q: I have a sideways opening window about 36" Wide and 60" Tall in my condo. Cannot be opened to go up and down, but only sideways to the right. Are the seal and fittings that come with the unit adequate to install the unit, or something else needed?
