    The instructions indicate that you need to take the lid off to fill the kettle. That is a ridiculous idea. The instructions also state that the handle gets hot, and you need to use a pot holder to lift the kettle. Nothing could be more awkward. I immediately returned the kettle.

    When the kettle started boiling the steam would leak through the lid handle possibly burning your hand. Had to return to store, defective.

    Q: What grade stainless steel? Is it coated? Why does a magnet not stick to inside?

    • A: Not sure the grade. But it is a wonderful kettle. I use it everyday and it works very well. The lid is still super tight. It may he coated on the inside but hard to tell. I just see S/S.
