We previously had a magnetic deflector and constantly had to reposition it. This unit uses lips at both ends that slip under the ends of the floor registers. It maintains it’s position and deflects well.

Very durable plastic and they fit perfectly on the floor heat register to deflect the air. They are a bit expensive but they do work well and will last many years.

Sometimes the cats knock it off the register, but it’s easy to fit back in. It doesn’t get knocked off by robot vacuum. 5 stars as it works as described and expected.

A: The current product has no magnets. It's held in place by lips that go under the edges of the register. So, yes.
