The closed-cell foam has very low rates of heat transfer and water vapour permeability, making it an excellent choice for an extensive temperature range from -297 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.

Q: I had previously purchased self sealing pipe wrap but bought these this time around. After installing them on my pipes, there's the exposed slit. Do I need to buy a pipe tape of some sort to seal that slit?

A: The purpose of the pipe wrap is to lessen the transfer of heat or cold from surrounding material to pipe. So if the pipe wrap slit doesn't match up and there is a gap of, say 1/8" or 1/4" then the tape won't impede the flow of cold very much. A different sized pipe wrap is needed. If there is no gap, I don't think a thin layer of tape which provides very little thermal resistance is needed.

Q: Does it prevent mould if the pipe is sweating (and dripping)

A: If you can put it On when your lines are dry, it will prevent the line from sweating anymore. If your lines are wet, I would try wiping them with their rag and hitting them with the hair blow dryer for a few minutes before applying it. On the inside of the insulation, there is a double sided tape, which keeps it fitting tightly to your waterline to prevent future moisture once it’s insulated

A: There is no UV protection for both pipe and pool noodle. Product numbers 63-0031 and 63-0039 are both UV protected.
