Bought this 2 years back. Used it only few times. Smoke started coming out on my last use. Never worked after.

Failed on Fourth Use

Bought this unit may 4 years ago and had it in the basement, I used it maybe 4 times. I was using it today as I was sanding a wooden island for the kitchen and the vacuum started to smoke an stink. I shut it off and unplugged it, I could see the smoke rolling off the unit for a few minutes. I took IT outside to be safe, let it sit for a while and went to try it again. Nothing. I checked the breaker and it was good.
The thing would not run.
The fine filter was not really dirty and there was no visible damage.
I was very disappointed as Maximum is normally CTCs top level brand and is usually reliable.
Not this time,
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Can you tell me how I can get Regular Cartridge Filter (054-0164) to fit this vacuum. It is an inch too high and the fastener will not connect. You need to get better information on this vac and filters that fit.
